Two members of the Iranian women’s soccer team were granted asylum in Australia, the Australian Home Affairs Minister said on March 16th. They will remain in Australia, while their teammates have already departed the country.
 　The team arrived in Australia for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup last month, before the war in Iran had started. The team was knocked out of the tournament over the weekend of March 8-9th and faced the prospect of returning to a country under attack.
 　The Iranian team became popular figures in Australia during the tournament and got even more attention when they didn’t sing the Iranian anthem before their first match.
 　The players didn’t explain publicly why they did not sing. They later saluted and sang the anthem before their other matches. During the tournament, the women mostly avoided talking about politics or the situation at home.

　伊朗女足球員沒有公開說明，為什麼她們當時沒有唱國歌。但她們在後續場次開賽前，都有敬禮和唱國歌。比賽期間，伊朗女足球員大多避免談論家鄉的政治或局勢。
