  Tennis players from Russia and Belarus willnot be allowed to play at Wimbledon this yearbecause of the war in Ukraine.
  Among the prominent players in men’stennis affected by the ban are reigning U.S.Open champion Daniil Medvedev, whorecently reached No.1 in the ATP rankings andis currently No. 2; and No. 8 Andrey Rublev.
  The affected players in women’s tennisinclude No. 4 Aryna Sabalenka; VictoriaAzarenka, a former No. 1 who has wonthe Australian Open twice; and AnastasiaPavlyuchenkova, the French Open runner-up last year. Medvedev, Rublev andPavlyuchenkova are from Russia; Sabalenkaand Azarenka are from Belarus.
  Chinese leader Xi Jinping, speaking viavideo link at the opening ceremony of theBoao Forum for Asia Annual Conference2022 on April 21st, said his governmentsupports talks to resolve internationaldisputes, but opposes the use of sanctions.
