Nine Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, have suddenly broken diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing the oil-rich country of supporting terror groups and Iran. Kuwait is trying to help Qatar and its Arab neighbors restart their diplomatic and commercial relations. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump seems to support those who are staying away from Qatar.
The diplomatic crisis has affected air travel between Doha and Dubai. The route is popular among business travelers, and both are major transit hubs for travelers between Asia and Europe. Qatar Airways is hit the worst. They are rerouting flights to Europe through Iran and Turkey after Saudi Arabia barred its flights flying over the kingdom's airspace.
Trump's response on Tweet is worrisome. "So good to see the Saudi Arabia visit with the King and 50 countries already paying off. They said they would take a hard line on funding extremism, and all reference was pointing to Qatar. Perhaps this will be the beginning of the end to the horror of terrorism!"
